Chanel Looks to Traditional South Korean Style for Cruise Line

Chanel unveiled its 2015-16 Cruise collection in Seoul, the brand’s first in South Korea. The creative designer Karl Lagerfeld used a palette of pink, orange, violet, mint green and royal blue for the collection; he said that he had drawn inspiration from the traditional Korean outfit, the hanbok, for the line. Karl also mentioned at the show saying:” The concept is (a) modern, international version of typical Korean mood, how we see it for the modern 21st century but with inspiration from the past," He loves traditional Korean clothes, patterns and materials.
As for the location, it held at the DongDaemun Design Plaza, which is the world’s largest neo-futurist building, convinced by Zaha Hadid, the fashion event of one of the most recognized label was attended international as well as Korean celebrities, including, model Gisele Bundchen, actor Gaspard Ulliel, actresses Kristen Stewart and Tilda Swinton, along with Korean celebrities G-Dragon and Taeyang. For the place, Lagerfeld used Korea’s traditional color such as green, red, pink, orange and purple to arrange the lamps while the front of the runway was decorated with white flowers.
