According to Global Cosmetics News, Sephora announced the partnership with CEVA Logistics on Oct. 26, 2015. Sephora, one of the subsidiaries of Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy, founded in France with a broad range of product categories including skincare, color, fragrance, body, smilecare, and haircare. Now CEVA Logistics is going to consolidate Sephora’s 40 distribution points within Brazil into one which located just outside of São Paulo. In order to provide the storage and handling of over 7,000 stock and about three million individual orders of Sephora every year, CEVA has invested heavily in climate control infrastructure. According to Fabio Goncalves, Supply Chain Regional Director for Sephora, Sephora expects to expand business in Brazil through CEVA quickly.

Sephora is not the first cosmetics company uses third-party logistics. U.S.-based cosmetics company NYX Inc. appointed Menlo Worldwide Logistics (now named XPO Logistics) to operate distribution network in Eersel and Netherland in 2003. Paula’s Choice, which founded in the United State, also chooses eBay Enterprise as the supply chain provider in Pennsylvania to open an East Coast distribution center. Since the globalization, cosmetics industry has to shorten the time on delivering. According to POMS 20th conference paper, using third-party logistics can organize, and control the transport activities, facilitate the flow of materials in different areas orderly. The 3PL will be used largely in cosmetics industry.
